(12 of 12) 2.0 - September

My 12 of 12 for September. This is based on the concept by Chad Darnell. Click here to see what it's all about and hopefully you will decide to join in the fun next month!
6:45am: Breakfast, an english muffin and some peanut butter.

7:18am: Here we are driving to work.

7:18am: Still driving to work...the LOML's upside down smile!

7:19am: Here I am mimicking his upside down smile.

7:20am: One of the infamous camera's strategically placed along the 101 that hopes to catch speeders.

7:25am: My office or is it technically a cubicle?

8:00am: On a client conference call.
9:30am: Reviewing my calendar to see when I can do my 3 mile Walk Away the Pounds video. Looks like I can do it at 10:30 before the next round of conference calls.

10:30am: I'm starting my 3 mile walk (Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds videos are great for those that don't have access to a gym and for those of us that have 108 degrees outside)....

11:15am: 3 miles complete! I feel pretty good and ready to tackle the rest of my afternoon despite the exhausted look on my face.

6:45pm: Watching Wheel of Fortune. I had to get a picture of the clue to the puzzle as this is what the LOML is always asking me.

7:00pm: Dinner - Salad with chicken, tomatoes, cheese and avocado.

Bonus Pic is based on the word "unexpected". I received the memory upgrade for my computer two days earlier than was predicted by Dell - yay!

Sites from San Juan, PR

Some pics from my work trip to PR. Enjoy!

Old San Juan

I loved the look of the streets...colorful buildings, iron clad balconies, and blue cobblestone roads. Old San Juan was very clean and filled with plenty of shopping and good Puerto Rican food.

The building at the end of this street is the Governor's mansion.

The best bakery in Old San Juan. We picked up some unbelievable pastries- Yum!

El Condado (sites around our hotel)

I just got a kick out of the name of this shop. Safety first!

The calm before the storm.

The winds were starting to kick up making it a bit challenging to walk around the town.

It's me. Hanging on the beach before the rains came upon us.
Misc. sites

Me again on the beach watching people body surf in the Atlantic.

These are the beautiful flowers at the hotel entrance.

Hola from Puerto Rico!

Hola! I'm currently in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I am here all week visiting with a few of our PR clients. It's been quite a week and it's only Wednesday!

This is the view from my room at the Marriott. It's really quite spectacular! I love being by the ocean. We've been lucky and have had no rain although we have been dealing with the humidity which is an interesting change from the dry desert heat.

Here I am outside on my bosses balcony. She has a beautiful ocean view.

This is another view from our hotel. The sky got dark but alas no rain.

The wireless connection at the hotel is a bit slow so I'll post more photos tomorrow of our afternoon spent shopping and eating authentic Puerto Rican food and pastries (yum!) in Old San Juan.

First day of Kindergarden...

Not for me (ha!)but for my niece and nephew. It was a big day yesterday for them entering the big bad world of Kindergarden.

All dressed up in their new outfits

Miss Sophia looking so pitiful it was hard for us to leave her!

Shane waving goodbye to us and we thought he'd be the one crying for mom & dad!

12 of 12 V 2.0 - August 2007

It's time for the 12 of 12 for August. Unfortunately, it lands on a Sunday and there is not too much going on today so here it goes...Oh, this is the brainchild of Chad Darnell click here to view this months 12 of 12's.

9:00am: Checking email while waiting for the washing machine to finish with my clothes.

9:15am: The LOML checking the news online.
Looks like he is reading up on Notre Dame football.

9:30am: Making China Mist Mango ice tea

10:00am: Watching Cars on cable. We love Mater!

11:15am- Heading out to the grocery store.
It's a sunny and HOT day!

Someone left us a present behind the car tire. A cob of corn- ha!

When we started the car the outside temp was showing 104 degrees.
It sure felt like it too!

A new bank going in across from our apartment.
Love the tractor noises early Saturday mornings- NOT!

11:20am - The grocery store

The mushroom display - yuck!
I can't stand them but the LOML likes them
so I picked up some for the pizza I was making for dinner.

The grocery cart with our goods.

6:00pm - The pizzas are ready for the oven.
I opted to make two pizzas.
One that has tomatoes and the other has the mushrooms.

7:00pm - I didn't take any pics related to the word Light for the bonus pic. Instead decided to take a pic of what we were watching on TV tonight- Big Brother 8. We'd love to see the cry baby Amber go soon. Very interesting season with Evil Dick stirring things up in the house!

Comic-Con- huh?

I've been reading online about Comic-Con and wondering what all the buzz is about this event. For those not in the know like me it is similar to Cannes but the focus is comic book based movies. I liked how the LA Times classified it as "Sundance for SuperGeeks". Click here to get the 411 from the LA Times on the event that can be the make or break for the new onslaught of super hero movies.

New teaser from J.J. Abrams new movie

I have been a fan of J.J. Abrams since his days from Felicity and Alias (two of my all time favorite TV shows). He has a new film coming out in 2008 and as is J.J.'s style leaves you wanting to know more (i.e., Lost). Click here to see the article from EW.Com about his new film and the teaser movie poster. You can click here to see the trailer. Looks pretty interesting.

We're back from Vegas...

No, we didn't run off and get married. We headed to Vegas to see my cousin Michelle get married at the Planet Hollywood Hotel. It was a very nice wedding. Here are some photos from out trip.

Us at the wedding reception

We stayed at the Stratosphere Hotel and here we are visiting the top of the tower checking out the incredible view of the strip. Wish we'd visited at night as I bet the view is spectacular with the strip all lit up!

Me at the top of the Stratosphere

The LOML at the top of the Stratosphere.

On the way home driving through Hoover Dam...
The tower on the Nevada border

The Dam- check out the water line on the mountains. The level was super low!

Crossing the state line...back in Arizona.
