WII are addicted!

We got a taste of the WII bowling game and we're hooked! We spent the afternoon at my brother Dan's house on Saturday. We were over celebrating the kids May birthdays and they couldn't wait to bowl against the adults. Darn, those kids are good! We had so much fun and got totally addicted. We are actually looking to purchase a WII ourselves.

Brycen showing Aunt "Stina" how to bowl. I did manage to get 4 strikes in a row.

The LOML looking pretty serious after all he was trying to beat my 4 strikes.

Brycen most likely making another strike!

Even Grandma Debbie got involved in the fun.

Happy 8th Birthday Brycen!!!

Our little Punkin is not so little anymore. My nephew Brycen is turning 8 years old. Where has the time gone?! I remember going to the hospital when he was born and watching my mother literally jump around the floor outside of the delivery rooms so excited to have her first grandchild. He was the cutest little baby boy and was very responsive to Grandma's voice. It was a very special moment in our lives that we won't soon forget.

Happy Birthday Brycen!!!

"Take me out to the ballgame..."

Last night we spent the evening at Chase Field watching the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Colorado Rockies - Yes! It was a beautiful 77 degrees outside which was perfect for a night of baseball. The roof was open and the hot dogs were yummy! We had a great time!

Us at the game and me wearing my new Byrnes hat that the LOML bought for me.

A shot of Brynes (my favorite player but he's in a bit of a slump right now) on the new high def Jumbo Tron. It's seriously a spectacular Jumbo Tron!

A picture of Randy Johnson pitching (I seriously need to invest in a zoom lens!)

The LOML looking all serious while keeping score of the game.

My handsome man!

A shot of the new Jumbo Tron again...it was of the ketchup hot dog, mustard hot dog and relish hot dog foot race. Three kids are picked from the audience and they run in place donning hot dog costumes trying to make their hot dog run faster to come in 1st place. The relish won.

The Electric Company is making a comeback!

I LOVED watching The Electric Company. Here's the opening credits from when I recall watching the show and I didn't realize that Morgan Freeman was on the show. Pretty cool stuff back in the day! Click here to read the article about bringing back the show.

Whoo Hoo! I won a Marianne Mancusi book!

It's always fun to win something and I was notified that I won a copy of the book News Blues by Marianne Mancusi from Book Binge. I haven't had the opportunity to read her books yet but am a faithful reader of her blog which is how I stumbled upon the Book Binge blog. If you enjoy romance books click on the links above to check out more from Book Binge and Marianne.

"Nice Role Model!"

This past Saturday night we had my Nephew and two Nieces spend the night with us. The LOML and I were making popcorn for the kids as they settled in to make cards for Mother's Day. While I was popping the corn in the stove kettle, the LOML was waiting for the microwave to melt the butter. Now most people would know that the container of melted butter would be HOT but the LOML reached in to grab the bowl bare handed and yelled "SON OF A BITCH!" as the hot melted butter/container scorched his hand. The next thing we knew a little voice comes from the living room saying "Nice Role Model!" All we could do was burst out laughing.

12 of 12 (3): May 2008

Whew- I almost forgot about the 12 of 12 (concept by Chad Darnell) for May! I had the day off from work and spent my day having breakfast with Grandma, grocery shopping and cleaning the computer room closet. Not an overly exciting day off but breakfast with Grandma was fun and the rest of the day was productive. Lots of stuff to go through and purge that will be donated to Goodwill and maybe try to sell a few things on EBay.

Shots from my day...
10:00 am: Unpacking the stir fry vegetables purchased at the local grocery store.

10:30 am: Maintenance stopped by to fix our ice machine. Yay, we now have ice to cool our drinks now that we are reaching the 100 degree mark!

12:40 pm: Pics from the closet cleaning....

Old video tapes (graduation, Cabo booze cruise) and misc cords and stuff to shred.

The pile of misc. items for Goodwill

The box of books that I've read that I liked but not enough to keep

One side of the closet clutter free and organized

Look- I found my first camera! Yes, I still have my old Polaroid.

4:00 pm: Picked up the LOML from work and we made a run to Sports Authority for a scorebook for the DBacks game that we are attending tomorrow night.

6:00 pm: Making dinner...

Yummy salsa that I made using a recipe from Paula Deen (of course I modified it a bit but it's the same concept). The LOML really likes it!

Chicken Empinadas another recipe from Paula Deen. They are super easy to make and very yummy! *I'm a bit addicted to Food Network if you can't tell...hee, hee.

9:30 pm: During the end of my cleaning out the closet I found my barbies. Here's my Marie Osmand barbie doll with her orginal dress. I also had Donnie but he went missing (probably got tired of wearing the purple and pink jumpsuit).

Look at that bald spot on poor Marie's head. This is why to this day I don't cut my own or anyone else's hair.

Have a nice week!
